Support Your Local NJ Sports Teams
9/25/2015 2:47:00 PMSports fans in Jersey City can finally break out their favorite New Jersey sports team’s gear as the busiest season for sports takes place this month. Not only is baseball reaching the playoffs, but hockey and football are also starting back up. This year is no exception either – especially for Jersey City residents.
Four local professional teams, Yankees, Mets, Giants and Jets, are at critical steps of their individual campaigns. With both the Yankees and the Mets entering the final days of the regular baseball season we’re counting the days until the playoffs. Also on this side of the Hudson River, the area’s two NFL teams, The Giants and The Jets, are kicking off the 2015 football season in a big way.
If tickets to professional New Jersey sports games seem out of reach, try a local alternative! Check out some New Jersey high school sports games at schools such as Mc Nair Academic High School, William Dickinson High School and James J Ferris High School, or some games at New Jersey colleges like Rutgers, Seton Hall and New Jersey Institute of Technology. These New Jersey schools all host football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse and soccer games this time of year. There really is something for everyone!
Looking for things to do in Jersey City or need last minute plans? Most of these events sell tickets at the door, so they’re easily available last minute. Many of these events are also free or have very low entry fees, making them the perfect Friday night outing. There’s nothing quite like the family atmosphere of your local high school or college New Jersey sports team, especially as everyone joins together to support their home team.
So this autumn, grab your family and friends and head to a local New Jersey high school or college to catch a game and support your local New Jersey sports teams!
