• New York Giants Wide Receiver Joins Jersey City Toy Drive

With the holidays behind us, it’s always heart-warming to read about the good deeds people went the extra-mile to do that time of year. Sports fans and do-gooders alike will surely be touched by this one! New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz partnered with Suraj Kaufman, owner of the Sneaker Room on Central Avenue in Jersey City, for its annual toy drive. The result? Cruz helped Kaufman raise more than ever before!

Cruz and his foundation GENYouth donated hundreds of toys for local Jersey City children in need. More so, he stayed for a meet-and-greet to take photos with the children. It’s safe to say Cruz is officially their favorite Giants player after a heart-felt gesture like that!

Cruz told reporters, "It's about the kids, it's about being able to give back in the right way, “All these toys are going to go to a good cause that will be used... it's just a good way to give back to the (Jersey City) community.”

When asked what inspires him to donate each year Cruz commented, “I remember being young and not having anyone that was there for me, you know, no celebrity or no one that came to my town that was coming back and doing these things and giving back to the community. I wanted to make sure I was the opposite of that."

Thank you Victor Cruz, for all you do to help children in need – not only during the holiday season, but year-round through your foundation.
