    Long winter days with limited sunlight can be a downer and pulling yourself out of the winter blues can be difficult. But, never fear! Jersey City offers various free and fun activities in New Jersey for adults throughout the winter to help keep your spirits high.     ADULT ART CLASS IN JERSEY CITY

     

    What: Jersey City residents age 18 and older are invited to bring out their inner creativity at art classes for beginners. Each six-week session will teach the basics of painting with acrylics on canvas. Relax and enjoy while you create your newest masterpiece!

    Cost: Free instruction. Participants must purchase the necessary supplies (list given upon registration).

    Registration: Pre-registration with proof of residency for each six-week session. Registration is on-going and can be completed by submitting this form to the Pershing Field Pool Office.

    When: Thursdays from 12:30 – 4:00 pm or 5:00 – 8:30 pm until June 4, 2016

    ADULT YOGA INSTRUCTION

    What: If you are looking for things to do in Jersey City , lace up your sneakers and make time for a calming stretch at an hour-long yoga class that’s taught by certified instructor Carol Lester throughout the week. The program accommodates all levels of experience (ages 18+) with introductory yoga poses, visualization and meditation.

    DANCE CLASSES IN JERSEY CITY

     

    What: Two senior centers are inviting Jersey City citizens to boogie down this winter. They’re offering dance classes for senior citizens age 60 and over as a part of Jersey City’s Senior Program. The centers, which are open from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, offer lunch, recreational, educational and cultural activities as well.
