Huggins has all athletic abilities and intangibles that Division I-A programs look for in star running backs. Coach Rich Hansen was recently quoted about his work ethic and attitude. “He has balance and speed. He runs with power and has good strength. He knows what we are doing on offense, which is obviously very helpful. Any great back, though, is going to have those attributes. I think the thing that sets him apart is he has an unbelievable attitude and work ethic. The kid is a machine. He works harder than anyone we've had. There are no excuses or if, ands and buts -- he's going to be in the weight room, out on the field and doing the things we ask him to do."
Huggins ran for over 1,400 yards last season and scored 22 touchdowns.
Huggins has a slew of scholarship offers, including from Michigan, Rutgers, Notre Dame, West Virginia, and Penn State. He gave Scout.com an idea of when he might decide during a July 30th interview. “I’ve pretty much been offered by everyone in the country and I take that as a true blessing. I plan on committing on signing day or at the Under Armor game.”
Perhaps most interesting of possible suitors is Rutgers because of his relationship with fellow New Jersey recruits Miles Shuler-Foster and Charles Davis. The three have taken high school football in New Jersey by storm, and all are being recruited by the Scarlet Knights.
