Randy Foye gave his talents on the basketball court to the Newark community during his years at East Side High School by winning New Jersey State Player of the Year. Now, just weeks after signing a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, he is giving back in another way. On Saturday July 24th, the Randy Foye Foundation will host the 3rd annual “Night for Newark” as a fundraiser to help achieve his goal of helping the youth of Newark.

This event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the foundation. The upscale event features a wide range of guests, from professional athletes to celebrities to Randy’s former teammates at Villanova. Past guests have included Bill Raftery, Jay Wright, actor Billy Cudrup, and comedian Louie Anderson. Guests have the opportunity to meet children from the Assist 4 Life program, and the student who achieved the greatest progress over the past year is given the honor of speaking to the crowd. Past events for the RFF include: Back to School Supply Drive, Holliday Toy Drive, and a March Madness Fundraising Drive with VHUhoops.com.

Foye just recently signed a contract with the Clippers, his fourth team during his young NBA career. He was drafted seventh overall in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics, traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night, and spent last season with the Washington Wizards before becoming a free agent this summer.

Tickets for the event on July 24th range from $100 for young professionals under the age of 30, to $25,000 for VIP seating for 12 guests, along with individual name signage, listing on the Randy Foye website, and a full page ad in the program book.

Tickets to the event can be purchased at www.randyfoye.org or by calling 732-576-8181.
